2 Thurgood Marshall Hall
The new School of Public Policy
building bears the name of the late
U.S. Supreme Court justice, a former
civil rights lawyer. It honors his role
in breaking down barriers for African
American students, including the
desegregation of the University
of Maryland.

3 Lt. Richard L.
Collins III Plaza
A new contemplative space honors
the life and legacy of a Bowie State
University student killed on the College
Park campus in 2017. It features a
replica of the Unity Mural, created
by students at both schools after the
tragedy seeking hope and peace.
